Experience the Magic: Our Adventure on the Disney Wish

I wanted to share about our adventure on the newest Disney ship, the Disney Wish. This was my son’s and my fourth Disney Cruise, and my parents’ first. We went last month in June, taking off for Florida the day after school got out. I booked our cruise on the Costco Travel website. I received a Costco Shop card for $255 for booking the cruise through them. The card is sent digitally and you receive it in your email after you return home from your cruise.  We flew to Orlando and stayed overnight at the Hyatt inside the Orlando airport, which was super convenient. Disney picks up passengers from the Hyatt with their shuttle buses, and the process is smooth and well-organized. People are divided into departure groups based on their level in the Castaway Club, Disney Cruise Line’s loyalty program that you join after your first cruise. The shuttles whisk you to the port, where you wait for your turn to board the ship. The cost for the Disney shuttle is $45/person, but it’s better than getting an uber or rental car. Plus, when you book the shuttle, you usually are advanced in boarding time since you arrived via Disney transportation, and get to board earlier than if you arrived on your own with a scheduled boarding time.  We had connecting cabins with my parents, which made communication easier. Our cabins had balconies, which aren’t essential, but if you’re a bit claustrophobic and need a breath of fresh air in a hurry, they’re a lifesaver. On a three-night cruise, though, there’s hardly time to become one with your balcony. I love to sit out there early in the morning with my coffee. Since room service is included in the cost of the cruise, I request a pot of coffee, donuts, pastries, and other goodies the night before to be delivered bright and early. It’s the perfect start to a day at sea! I just remember to have $5 and $1 dollar bills for tips.  The breakfast buffet is fantastic, though I did manage to miss it one morning—clearly, I wasn’t awake enough to find the food. On the day we departed, we enjoyed a lovely sit-down breakfast with our original servers. It was great to bid them a final farewell. Our servers were truly amazing. My son and I decided to head  to Baha Mar Resort for our port adventure in Nassau, Bahamas. We’d already checked Atlantis Resort off our list on a previous Disney Cruise, so it was time for something new. The beach was lovely, but we mostly floated around the lazy river, living up to its name and our mood. Our port adventure included lunch, which was tasty, but the concession stand was seriously understaffed, and we waited about 45 minutes for our meal. One parent even offered up a free hotdog because he couldn’t wait any longer and abandoned his pager for the taking. Sadly, my son isn’t into water slide (except on the ship), so our only other stop was the wave machine pool. It was a nice port adventure, but if you asked me to choose between Baha Mar and Atlantis, I’d pick Atlantis again. Atlantis to me felt more welcoming and wasn’t so spread out. Baha Mar is a huge resort and we didn’t explore most of it. I’m sure there is a lot more to like at Baha Mar, but you need more than just 6 hours there to fully enjoy it.  Don’t be like me and forget to put your phone’s in the waterproof phone protectors. I bought them ahead of time on Amazon, yet I forgot to put them on my phones before we left for our trip to Baha Mar. I ended up spending an extra $40 for not having the ones I bought from Amazon. Duh!! This is the link to the ones I bought on Amazon: Universal Waterproof Case. They are only $13.99 for a set of 2. My parents chose to go on a short tour of Nassau for their port adventure. Their tour included a small meal which they said was more like appetizers. They did not want to go to Baha Mar with us because they aren’t into water slides and swimming. The $199/person fee to go to Baha Mar is not a bargain either. It includes transportation and a full lunch, but still pricey after paying for the Disney Cruise. On our third day, we decided to stay onboard and enjoy all the ship had to offer. Having already visited Castaway Cay on a previous Disney Cruise, I wasn’t too disappointed when my parents and my son opted out of going. My parents grew up on an island (Oahu), so islands don’t really excite them that much lol. My son loves shrimp and crab, so he got to indulge in the buffet, feasting on as much as he wanted. He also wanted to ride the Aqua Mouse, the big waterslide on the ship. There was no line because almost everyone was on the island. My dad bravely agreed to go with him once but had a hard time getting back up, so the lifeguards had to assist him. After that, I went on the Aqua Mouse with my son about five more times. It was fun, and it made him happy, so I was perfectly fine with it. There are many choices of food on the cruise. They have a Pizza stand that serves pizza all day and closes at midnight. They also have a barbecue  stand which has great tasty ribs and macaroni and cheese.  The soft serve is an awesome treat too. I must have had about 10 haha. The issue with short 3 day cruises is you don’t have a lot of time to enjoy the food. When you are on a longer cruise there are more opportunities to eat because there are a couple days of just being at sea.  The nightly Broadway-style Disney shows were

Discovering the Magic of Disney Cruise Line for Adults and Kids

Embarking on a Disney Cruise Line voyage isn’t just about sailing the high seas—it’s an immersive journey into the heart of magic, where adults and children alike can create unforgettable memories. From thrilling activities to sumptuous dining experiences, every moment aboard is designed to delight and enchant. Let’s dive into the essentials of Disney Cruise Line adventures, where every day is filled with wonder. Setting Sail: Activities for All Ages Whether you’re a grown-up seeking relaxation or a youngster ready for adventure, Disney Cruise Line offers a plethora of activities tailored to every age group. For the little ones, there are supervised kids’ clubs brimming with Disney-themed games, crafts, and character meet-and-greets. Meanwhile, adults can indulge in tranquil spa treatments, sip cocktails by the pool, or unwind in exclusive lounges. But the fun doesn’t stop there! Families can bond over exciting onboard activities like trivia contests, movie screenings under the stars, and Broadway-style shows featuring beloved Disney characters. For thrill-seekers, there are exhilarating waterslides, sports courts, and even virtual reality experiences to keep the adrenaline pumping. Culinary Adventures: Dining Experiences on Disney Cruise Line One of the highlights of any Disney Cruise Line voyage is the exceptional dining experience. Each ship boasts a variety of themed restaurants, each with its own unique ambiance and cuisine. But what sets Disney apart is the rotational dining concept. Every night, guests embark on a culinary journey as they rotate through different restaurants, accompanied by their dedicated waitstaff who travel with them. From the elegant sophistication of Lumiere’s to the adventurous spirit of Animator’s Palate, each restaurant offers a distinct atmosphere and menu inspired by Disney storytelling. If you have a special needs child or need special assistance, you can request help ahead of time through the Disney Cruise Line. At dinner, you might be sitting with another family or families. If you feel you may be stressed out sitting with another family you do not know, you can request to have your own private table. There are 2 seatings for dinner. The first seating is around 5:15 pm and the second is around 7:45 pm. If you are a Castaway Member and book early, you have a better chance of getting the first seating. You may still request the first seating and be placed on a waitlist if you are placed in the second and will have to discuss this with customer relations when you board the ship. If for some reason you don’t make it to dinner, you can order room service 24/7. I have ordered a pot of coffee and bagels in the past in the morning. Plan on calling early because they get a lot of room service requests. You can also order Mickey ice cream sandwiches for a late night treat. The Grand Finale: Singing Waiters and Performances As the voyage draws to a close, Disney Cruise Line delivers a magical finale that guests will cherish forever. On the last night of the cruise, during dinner at the final restaurant, the waitstaff put on a show unlike any other. With infectious energy and impeccable choreography, they serenade guests with lively performances, often involving audience participation. It’s a heartwarming spectacle that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Disney—bringing people together through music, laughter, and shared experiences. For both adults and children, it’s a bittersweet reminder of the unforgettable moments they’ve shared during their time at sea. Conclusion: Creating Memories to Last a Lifetime Disney Cruise Line offers a voyage like no other, where every detail is crafted to ignite the imagination and create lasting memories. From thrilling activities for all ages to gourmet dining experiences and unforgettable performances, the magic of Disney permeates every aspect of the journey. So whether you’re a family looking for adventure, a couple seeking romance, or a solo traveler ready to explore, set sail on a Disney Cruise Line adventure and discover the wonders that await. After all, as Walt Disney himself once said, “Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, and dreams are forever.” If you are looking for some Disney deals, you can find all things Disney at www.amazon.com/disney. Unlocking the Magic: How to Save Money on a Disney Cruise and Maximize Your Caribbean Adventure

Embarking on a Disney Cruise is a dream come true for many families and Disney enthusiasts alike. From the enchanting entertainment to the exquisite dining experiences, every moment onboard promises to be filled with wonder and excitement. However, navigating the waters of cruise expenses can sometimes feel like venturing into uncharted territory. Fear not, fellow adventurers! Here are some invaluable tips to help you save money on your Disney Cruise while ensuring you make the most of your Caribbean getaway. 1. Plan and Book Early One of the best ways to save money on a Disney Cruise is by planning and booking your trip well in advance. Disney often offers early booking discounts and special promotions for those who secure their reservations early. Keep an eye out for these deals, as they can significantly lower the overall cost of your cruise. 2. Take Advantage of Special Offers Disney regularly provides special offers and discounts for its cruises, ranging from discounted rates to onboard credits. Be sure to check the Disney Cruise Line website regularly for any promotions that may apply to your desired travel dates. Additionally, consider working with a travel agent who specializes in Disney vacations—they often have access to exclusive offers and can help you find the best deal for your budget. 3. Become a Castaway Club Member Joining the Castaway Club, Disney Cruise Line’s loyalty program, can offer a plethora of benefits for frequent cruisers. Members enjoy early booking opportunities, onboard discounts, and special gifts during their sailings. There are three tiers of membership—Silver, Gold, and Platinum—each offering increasingly enticing perks. Whether it’s priority boarding or exclusive receptions with Disney characters, being a Castaway Club member adds an extra touch of magic to your cruise experience. 4. Pack Wisely Packing strategically can help you save money and make the most of your Caribbean cruise adventure. Here are some essential items to bring along: 5. Explore Port Adventures Wisely While exploring the beautiful ports of call in the Caribbean is undoubtedly a highlight of any Disney Cruise, it’s essential to do so wisely to avoid overspending. Research excursion options ahead of time and consider booking activities independently or opting for more budget-friendly options. But remember, if you book a port adventure through Disney, if anything happens where your group does not arrive back to the shop on time, the ship will wait. But if you do an independent excursion, you might be left behind if you are not back to the ship on time. Additionally, be mindful of extra costs, such as souvenirs and gratuities, when participating in port adventures. 6. Pirate Night On most Disney Cruises’s and all of the ones I’ve been on, one night is Pirate night. There is a party with Captain Jack Sparrow, Captain Hook, and of course Mickey and Minnie on the deck. You will be given some pirate attire, but feel free to bring pirate costumes from home. People who have been on previous Disney Cruises often bring their pirate costumes to join in on the fun. The night ends with an amazing fireworks show. It is one of my favorite things about the Disney Cruise Line. Here is a cute boys pirate costume SPUNICOS Children’s Pirate Costume with Pirate Hat,Eyepatch,Pirate Cutlass. And here is a cute adult woman pirate costume Queen of the High Seas Costume. 7. Returning Guests While you are on a Disney Cruise, Disney offers guests something called a Placeholder Reservation for a future Disney cruise. Guests may enjoy 10% savings off rates on disneycruise.com, and a reduced deposit on sailings 7-nights and longer. Guest’s make a $250 deposit and then choose their future cruise on disneycruise.com. The cruise must take place within 24 months after booking. This offer is valid for Categories 4 to 11 only. 8. Costco! If you book your cruise through Costco travel, you may qualify for a Costco shop card. I recently booked my cruise through Costco for a 3 night Disney Bahamas cruise and will receive a Costco shop card for $255 after the cruise. This is great for me because I go to Costco for things like toilet paper, laundry detergent, coffee, and I always need these things. By following these tips, you can save money on your Disney Cruise while maximizing the magic of your Caribbean adventure. Whether you’re a first-time cruiser or a seasoned Castaway Club member, there’s always something new to discover and enjoy aboard a Disney Cruise. So, hoist the anchor, set sail, and let the enchantment begin! P.S. You can purchase all things Disney at www.Amazon.com/Disney. Buy ahead of time from the comfort of your home on Amazon for your Disney gear!

Best Eats on your Aulani Trip- Part I

So, you’re gearing up for an Aulani adventure? Buckle up because I’ve got some tasty tips and island insights to make your Oahu escapade epic! If you want to get your money’s worth at Aulani, plan on staying somewhere else like Waikiki for a couple days and use those days to explore the island. You are paying a lot to stay at Aulani so you should experience the relaxation and all of the amenities Aulani has to offer. If you stay in Waikiki for a couple days, you will be spending less on hotel, and it is more worthwhile to venture out to other parts of the island. Just to let you know, the shave ice at Aulani is okay. It hits the spot on those hot days by the pools. But the shave ice at Aulani is not authentic Hawaiian shave ice. It is so cute shaped like Mickey, but it’s more like a commercialized version of shave ice. And please remember, when you are in Hawaii, its called Shave Ice (not Shaved Ice) 🙂 Now, let’s talk shave ice – the sweet nectar of Hawaiian life! Picture this: Matsumoto’s in Haleiwa, Waiola Shave Ice in Honolulu, or maybe Ululani’s if you’re feeling fancy from your Maui trip. If you go to Waiola’s off Kapahulu, you have to go to Leonard’s Bakery down the street. Sure, the parking’s tight, but trust me, it’s worth the squeeze. And don’t even get me started on those malasadas – Leonard’s knows what’s up! But hold up, forget those mall trucks; Leonard’s on Kapahulu is where it’s at! Just know that you are going to gain some weight on this trip. But wait, there’s more! Have you ever tried snow puffs from Paalaa Kai Bakery? It’s like biting into a cloud filled with custard dreams, sprinkled with powdered sugar goodness. And for a savory fix, North Shore’s Ted’s Bakery has got your back with their garlic shrimp plate and chocolate haupia pie – a combo that’ll have you coming back for more (and maybe adding a few pounds to the luggage… and the waistline). My other favorite place for garlic shrimp is Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck in Haleiwa. Giovanni’s has 3 locations. But for some reason, the one in Haleiwa just tasted amazing that day we went there, and has become my favorite. If you are at Giovanni’s, go to Matsumoto’s after for a refreshing dessert. There are restrooms at the Matsumoto’s shopping center just in case 😉 Hey, party people! Got something special to celebrate? Look no further than Haleiwa Joe’s Haiku Gardens in Kaneohe – it’s like dining in paradise, surrounded by majestic Ko’olau mountains, lush tropical greenery, and koi pond. Seriously, it’s so stunning, you might forget you’re there for the food… almost. But fear not, because the grub is as mouthwatering as the view is breathtaking. If you go to Haleiwa Joe’s Haiku Gardens you might have some time to swing by the Windward Mall for a Sweet Lady of Waiahole at the Waiahole Poi Factory. It is a delicious Hawaiian dessert with warm Kulolo and Haupia ice cream. It is so good. You have to save room for it! I almost forgot to mention they also have one of my favorite comfort foods: chicken long rice. If you have never had it before, it is a soup with chicken broth, glass noodles, and chicken. They have all kinds of Hawaiian food too like lau lau and kalua pig, but the last time I went there it was just for the Sweet Lady. When I saw they had chicken long rice, I couldn’t resist. If you are in Kaneohe on a Sunday or Wednesday before or after your trip to the North Shore or Kualoa Ranch, go to the Farmer’s Market at the Windward Mall. They are open on Sundays from 10:00am-2pm and Wednesdays from 2pm-6pm. They have all kinds of fruits and vegetables but I always want the Haupia and the pastries. They even have the Haupia/Kulolo combo. Now, if you’re craving a more laid-back vibe for a family feast, head over to the Side Street Inn. It’s got that down-to-earth charm with flavors that’ll knock your socks off. They serve large portions you can share with your family. So, whether you’re fancying up for Haleiwa Joe’s or keeping it casual at the local spot, one thing’s for sure: your taste buds are in for a treat! Don’t forget your sunscreen when you go sightseeing around the island. Sun Bum Original SPF 50 Sunscreen Spray |Vegan and Hawaii 104 Reef Act Compliant (Oxtinoxate & Oxibenzone Free) Broad Spectrum Moisturizing UVA/UVB Sunscreen with Vitamin E | 6oz is a great choice. Don’t forget your visor too FURTALK Sun Visor Hats for Women Wide Brim Straw Roll-Up Ponytail Summer Beach Hat UV UPF Packable Foldable Travel. Oh my goodness. I forgot about Zippy’s. Ah, Zippy’s – the ultimate local fast food fix! When hunger strikes, I make a beeline for their crispy fried chicken, lip-smacking chili, twirl-worthy spaghetti, and that macaroni salad. And don’t even get me started on their dobash cake – it’s like a sweet slice of heaven! If you want a bowl of won ton min, go to the Zippy’s in Kahala and sit in the restaurant so you can really enjoy it. They still give you the Chinese hot mustard which I love to dip my won ton in. Now, here’s the deal: you can cozy up and chow down right there or snag your goodies to go – because let’s face it, sometimes pajamas are the dress code for dinner! But listen up, pizza lovers: I’m about to drop some truth bombs. Sure, pizza’s great and all, but this is Hawaii, folks! It’s time to broaden those taste buds and dive into the delicious melting pot of cultures and flavors waiting for you at Zippy’s. So, say aloha to the same-old, and aloha to a culinary adventure worth savoring! But guess what, my son wants pizza

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park- my favorite WDW park

While many prefer Magic Kingdom or Epcot, my personal favorite among Walt Disney World parks is Animal Kingdom. Upon entering, the imposing Tree of Life immediately captivates visitors with its towering presence. Standing tall at 145 feet, this magnificent structure pays tribute to the diverse array of animals and their significance in the intricate tapestry of life. Admiring its intricate carvings, depicting over 300 creatures, I am struck by the tree’s symbolic representation of Earth’s rich wildlife. As night falls, the Tree of Life transforms into a mesmerizing spectacle. Every 10 minutes, twinkling fireflies animate the intricate animal carvings, creating a stunning display of color and motion that breathes life into the surroundings.   For a more leisurely experience, a visit to the Kilimanjaro Safari offers a serene escape within the expansive Harambe Wildlife Reserve spanning 110 acres. Immersed in the tranquility of the reserve, we delighted in observing various animals, providing a welcome respite from the bustling activity of the parks. I purchased the “Capture Your Moment: Disney’s Animal Kingdom” photo session for this trip. It was my parents first time to Walt Disney World and I believe the $99 was well worth the beautiful photo’s we received. The photographers do a great job and have props also. I offered to give a tip but they are not allowed to take cash tips. They do appreciate if you send a Cast Member Compliment on the WDW app. Within the enchanting realm of Pandora, I found my favorite attraction. Among the two rides available, Avatar Flight of Passage stole my heart. Sitting atop a motorcycle-like contraption, I felt transported as if riding on the back of a banshee, offering a more interactive experience similar to Soarin‘. Alternatively, Na’vi River Journey provides a serene voyage, offering a peaceful retreat from the heat while marveling at the lush landscapes of Pandora. Like the safari, it offers a chance to unwind and recharge amidst the adventure of the park. Don’t forget your cooling towels. They came in handy when we were there in the summer. These misting fans are also great. They sell both at the parks but they are so much more expensive if you buy them at the parks.  I sincerely hope that your upcoming visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is an unforgettable experience filled with wonder, excitement, and cherished memories. I wish you moments of joy and laughter as you create lasting memories with your loved ones, surrounded by the enchanting atmosphere of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. Enjoy every magical moment, and may your visit be nothing short of extraordinary! Customize your WDW trip tee! https://www.wdw-magazine.com/product/customizable-vacation-tee/?ref=MICHELLEBISHOP

Rain or Shine at Disney: Weighing the Benefits

People with annual passes often face the decision of whether to visit Disneyland in the rain. Fortunately, for us pass holders, the flexibility of frequent visits allows us to consider rainy days without the pressure of it being the focal point of our entire vacation. Surprisingly, there are occasions when experiencing Disneyland in the rain proves to be beneficial. During rainy days, the parks typically see fewer visitors, resulting in shorter lines and reduced wait times. This also means quicker service when ordering food, allowing guests to receive their meals promptly. A must have for a trip to Disneyland when it is raining are poncho’s from Amazon. If you buy them at the parks they are expensive. Rain Ponchos, with Drawstring Hood (10 Pack) Emergency Disposable Rain Ponchos Family Pack for Adults,Clear are a great deal. It’s better to be prepared than to show up without rain gear. Waterproof Shoe Covers, Non-Slip Water Resistant Overshoes Silicone Rubber Rain Shoe Cover Outdoor cycling Protectors apply to Men, Women, Kids (Large, Yellow) are great to protect your shoes. No one likes to walk around with wet feet. Yoobure Small Mini Umbrella with Case Light Compact Design Perfect for Travel Lightweight Portable Parasol Outdoor Sun&Rain Umbrellas are great when you don’t want to carry a big umbrella. One of my favorite places to sit and relax is Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. They have a big fireplace that’s super warm and cozy, plus lots of rocking chairs where you can just sit back and relax as long as you like. The usually have hot chocolate for sale in the lobby near the fireplace. The hot chocolate is delicious there. It’s perfect for warming up and drying off of rainy days. Going to Disneyland in the rain isn’t so bad, especially if you’re ready for it. Staying dry is key, and the bonus is shorter wait times for rides. Enjoy your hot cocoa with Mickey and Minnie and friends.

Aulani

One of my favorite places is Aulani. I was born in Honolulu and my family moved to California when I was 4 years old. I remember being so sad leaving my grandparents and family in Hawaii. My dad worked for the airlines, so we would visit our family in Hawaii practically every summer. At 51, I still love Hawaii. Disney made our trips to Hawaii even better by opening up Aulani Resort and Spa. We toured the hotel the first week they opened. We just walked around and checked it out. My son was about 3 months old. We eventually stayed there during one of our trips and loved it. In 2020 I finally decided to invest and become a Disney Vacation Club member/owner at Aulani. I did not buy directly through Disney, because it was too expensive for my single mom budget. I bought my points through Disney Resale Market. My agent Andy Berry helped me through the whole process. Every year I have a small amount of points I can use at Aulani or any other Disney Vacation Club resort. If I do not use my points one year, I can bank them for the next year. I can borrow points from the following year if I do not have enough for the present year. It has been very beneficial and I have saved a lot of money by having this membership. Last year I had a room reserved at Aulani for just one night, but I did not get vacation time approved (I am a nurse). So I sold my points and reservation for that night through a company called David’s Vacation Club Rentals. If you are thinking about staying at Aulani, check out David’s Vacation Club Rentals. It is usually much more affordable to reserve rooms through this service compared to the Aulani website. If you need luggage tags, I found the cutest Stitch luggage tags. My son and I love Aulani because it is so cozy. Our favorite Disney characters are Moana, Lilo, and Stitch. I also love Disney Villains. Who doesn’t? The pools and slides at Aulani are amazing. We really love the lazy river. We can spend hours just floating around on the lazy river. During the busy holiday seasons and summer, you have to get to the pools early in the morning to get chairs. The last time we were there, I decided I didn’t want to wake up so early just to do that. So we would go to the pools and put our towels and slippers in the cubbies. There are cubbies in a few locations around the pools. Once when we were there we went to the Mo’olelo Fire Pit Storytelling. It was very relaxing sitting next to the fire pit listening to Uncle’s stories. Sometimes, Moana makes an appearance there.  When visiting Hawaii, you must have sunscreen that is reef safe. Sun Bum Original SPF 50 Sunscreen Spray |Vegan and Hawaii 104 Reef Act Compliant (Oxtinoxate & Oxibenzone Free) Broad Spectrum Moisturizing UVA/UVB Sunscreen with Vitamin E | 6oz is a great choice. Babo Botanicals Sheer Zinc Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF30 – Natural Zinc Oxide – Shea Butter – Face & Body – Water Resistant – Fragrance-Free – EWG Verified – Vegan – For all ages – 1 or 2 Pack is also a great choice. There are a lot of mosquito’s in Hawaii. If you plan on going on a hike to a waterfall, be prepared with bug repellent. DEET, picaridin, and oil of lemon eucalyptus (OLE) are the main ingredients for bug repellent. Repel 100 Insect Repellent, Pump Spray, 4-Fluid Ounces, 10-Hour Protection contains 98.11% DEET. Bug Soother Spray (2, 8 oz) – Natural Insect, Gnat and Mosquito Repellent & Deterrent – Safe Bug Spray for Adults, Kids, Pets, & Environment – Made in USA – Includes 1 oz. Travel Size is a natural repellent which contains lemongrass oil.   We have not been to the luau, but we have watched some of it from our balcony. My cousin used to be a hula dancer at the Aulani luau. I’ve heard it’s great and the food is fantastic. We have been to the Character Breakfast. My son was still scared of characters back then. The food was great. Mama’s Snack Stop is also a great option for food. The chicken strips and coconut-breaded shrimp are delicious. The shave ice stand is nice (not authentic Hawaiian shave ice) but still good. Dole whip is available at Little Opihi’s Beachside Kiosk. Dole whip in Hawaii is the best! The last time I was at Aulani I went to the Laniwai Spa. It was amazing. They have an outdoor hydrotherapy garden called Kula Wai. It was very relaxing. I indulged in standing under the various hydrotherapy showers. The jacuzzi and the massage were awesome. I would love to go back. On the day you are leaving Aulani, you can request time at the Luana Lounge. You can feel free to utilize the showers, lockers, cozy seating spaces, a spacious TV screen, a display showing Honolulu Airport departures, and a printer for your boarding pass(es). I heard you have to go to the front desk to request to use the lounge on the day you leave. You have to go first thing in the morning to do this.  When you leave Aulani or Marriott Vacation Club or Beach Villas at Ko Olina, you can hang out in the Ko Olina Traveler’s Lounge at the HNL airport. It’s a nice quiet lounge with comfortable seating, charging stations, and food for purchase. It is located on the first floor garden court area in Main Terminal 2. I’ve never stayed in there but it seems nice if you have a long wait time before your flight. You have to make reservations to enter on their website ahead of time.  I can go on and on about Aulani. I will revisit and think of more helpful things to prepare you for a visit to Aulani! Feel free
